When it comes to your house, you’re always going to have a part that you love the most. We all do. Some adore spending time in the kitchen because it is the heart of the home. Others dream of an open-plan living space. I mean who wouldn't? As individuals, our chosen sacred space definitely ties into our personalities and what we want out of life. But there are some rooms that are almost everyone's favorite. One of which, is the bedroom. Because who doesn't love to sleep somewhere that is serene or just plain stunning? Bedrooms are safe places that let you design and decorate it to really show your true self.
However, achieving this can be quite tough. Because it’s not always that easy to know how to approach the decor. So I'm going to break it down.
The thing about creating a calming bedroom, is not to rush it - or to focus too much on the bigger picture. Sure, you want to create a space that looks the part and feels great as a whole, but to do that, you need each element to work. And that can often depend on your interiors budget over all. Because you’re going to want to allocate different amounts to different areas of the room and balance it all out. So, here are the seven steps you can take to create a stunning sleep space.
1. Look For Inspiration
To start with here, you’re going to want to make sure that you know what kind of style you’re going for. Because without picking a design style, the finished look could feel very distorted. Which, if I'm being honest I totally do sometimes. I get so excited about different design styles and I just want to use them all but like.... that just isn't the way to go. So, here, you’re going to want to see what kind of looks are out there, to inspire your own bedroom redesign. You can check out my Pinterest boards for some bedroom designs.
2. Cover Your Bases
Then, when it comes to actually getting to work on the space, you need to ensure that you work on the base first of all. So pick out the perfect color palette, such as homedit.com, and get the walls covered off. And then move onto the flooring by picking a style that works with your overall vision. That is if you have the opportunity to change stuff like that. If not, and you can't change stuff like that, focus on using lighting and rugs to brighten spaces and make the room feel cozier.
3. Invest In The Best
While there are always going to be places that you can invest around the home, there are also always going to be ones that are smarter, or that matter more, than others. Your bed is absolutely one of those. Because you want it to be comfortable and to be able to facilitate your sleep. So here, make sure that you do some research and find options, such as platformbedsonline.com, that you can consider. Also, make sure that you’re testing out mattresses too, because they will often define how comfortable you can be. It's easy to find decor and accent pieces that are great prices and won't break the bank so you can spend it on the pieces you want to last a lifetime. 4. Focus On Storage
Next up, you need to make sure that you have all of the storage you need. It can be easy to think that you just need it to look pretty but really - you just want it to work and be functional. So, make sure that you have all of the storage you need for your clothes or beauty supplies or whatever else. Otherwise, everything will look cluttered and not the stress free zone you're going for.
5. Dress The Space
Then, you need to make sure that the space is looking great. For this, the finishing touches really count. So really think about what will make sure that you’re doing all that you can to create a space that looks the part. And it needs to feel complete. So things like cushions and throws, mirrors, artwork, rugs, or anything decorative can really help you to make this space feel special, well-designed, and relaxing too. Don't forget to fill it all up with things that make you happy!
6. Enjoy The Space
Last but not least, ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL SPACE YOU CREATED!
